You may remember that a few weeks ago shared a post explaining that the podcast is becoming free so that more people can enjoy and access it. In conjunction with that, I added a poll to that post, inviting you to vote on some ideas for extra tools and guides for paid subscribers.

I had three ideas in that poll, and each option received an equal share of the votes, so I’m just going to make them all. I’ll see, based on your feedback and how much you interact with these tools, which you prefer. Whichever ones are popular, I’ll keep making.

I’m rolling out the first one today: A Guide to Spiritual Formation: A Seven-Day Journey Through the Darkling Psalter.

I’ve put this together for you to use during your times of reflection and meditation, in hopes that it will be an occasion to pray, think, and give yourself space to listen to what God is saying.

Each day in the guide has an introduction to a step in an important theme under the topic of Christian growth and formation. Each day also focuses on one of the psalm renditions in the Darkling Psalter and leads you into going deeper on key verses, as well as providing prompts for prayer and meditation.

Because these resources take a long time to put together, and to continue to build up this project to be financially self-sustaining, I’m releasing them for paid subscribers only. However, here is a link to the first day in case you want to sample it and see what it is all about.

Sample: Read Day 1

If you find it helpful, the full guide is available below.

Next up: An Audio Version of the Spiritual Formation Guide

The next project for paid subscribers is a seven-day audio version of this spiritual formation guide. It will be something you can simply listen to, released on a dedicated podcast for paid subscribers only.

In it, you’ll be guided through the prompts, hear the psalm re-read, and be given space and time for meditation.

My hope with this tool is to keep encouraging you to spend time praying and listening to the Lord, while also giving you content to help spur that on.

Annotated Guides to the Darkling Psalter

In a few weeks, after the new dedicated podcast is up for paid subscribers, I will start making annotated guides to the individual renditions of the Darkling Psalter.

These will include notes on source material, reflections on the meanings, and connections between the psalms, along with allusions to other passages in the Bible.
