If you're doing a smaller collection maybe it would be an opportunity to pull together some of the themes you've explored so far that might not make it into the larger book. The theme of the sea/water/etc. is one that comes to mind but there are several articles you've published that pull together "Psalms for _____" that might lend to chapters or sections in a small book.
I think I would be more interested in Volume 1 just because then I would only have to buy it once, as opposed to buying the smaller selection then having to buy the full volume later. But I really do believe in this project so if you do crowdfunding for Volume 1 I would be in!
